New application deadline for GVB Awards: 15.05.2025
I. Objectives of the Competition
The GVB Startup 2025 aims to:
Connect outstanding startups within the global Vietnamese community.
Attract the attention of international investors, fostering the development of business ideas in European and Vietnamese markets.
Provide a professional platform for startups to present projects, access resources, and build business networks.
II. Eligibility
Startups founded or co-founded by Vietnamese individuals aged 18 to 39.
Startups in the ideation stage or expanding their business model.
Startups need to focus on green and digital transformation.
III. Competition Rounds
Round 1: Preliminary Selection (Online)
Contestants must submit an application (including all required documents listed below), a team photo, and a video (up to 3 minutes) introducing their idea through the online registration system.
The judging panel will score based on creativity, feasibility, and growth potential.
Outcome: Top 20 projects are selected for the next round.
Round 2: Selection (Online)
The Top 20 teams submit a detailed business plan and a video outlining their development strategy.
The judging panel evaluates the feasibility, uniqueness, and growth strategy of the projects.
Outcome: Top 5 projects are selected.
Round 3: Semi-Finals (Online)
The Top 5 teams submit a comprehensive presentation video, including financial documents, human resource plans, and project development roadmaps.
The judging panel scores and selects the Top 3 projects to advance to the Finals in London.
Startups from Vietnam are guaranteed one of the top three slots.
Round 4: Finals (In London)
Format:
Pitching: Presenting ideas and answering questions from the panel of investors and judges.
Duration: 25 minutes per team (10 minutes for presentation + 15 minutes for Q&A).
The judging panel announces the winners of the first, second, third prizes, and NSSC prize
IV. The rewards for Top 3
Certificates
Total cash prize: Minimum $6,000
Hamy Academy English course: $1,000 value
Participation in Hub incubator program with fundraising opportunities up to $2,000
Networking opportunities with UK and international venture capitalists and investors
Additional opportunities for mentorship, partnerships, and business growth
V. General Rules
Projects must meet legal and intellectual property standards.
Each team can register only one project.
A maximum of 3 members per team (***if there will be a sponsor for the flight tickets, each team will be allocated only 1 or 2 tickets)
Each team is allowed to change a maximum of one (1) member for each different round of the Competition.
All videos and documents must be submitted in two languages: English and Vietnamese
The judges’ decisions are final.
The Organizing Committee has the right to adjust the number of teams advancing to the next rounds and the final if the submitted applications do not meet the required criteria.

Project introduction video:
Only one competition video (max 3 min) needs to be submitted, narrated in either English or Vietnamese, named "Round 1 - Category - Country (2-letter code) - Founder’s birth year - Founder’s name. Example: Round 1-Cat1-VN-1995-Hung Van Nguyen", with subtitles in both English and Vietnamese. This video will be uploaded to the GVB Startup Fanpage.

General guidelines for each file submission:
All videos and documents must be submitted in two languages: English and Vietnamese. Each file must start with the following information:
Team name, project name.
Team members.
Registration code: Format: Category - Country (2-letter code) - Founder’s birth year - Founder’s name. Example: Cat1-VN-1995-Hung Van Nguyen.
Team member information:
Personal profiles, roles, and experience of each team member.
Project description:
Introduction to the idea/start-up.
Goals, mission, core values.
Target market and potential customers.
Business model.
Business plan:
Market analysis and competition analysis.
Marketing strategy and product/service development.
Financial plan: capital sources, revenue projections, expenses.
Evidence/highlights of the project:
Prototype, demo, patent (if any).
Awards, certificates, or related media articles.
Additional documents (if any):
Market research reports, supporting data.
Recommendation letters from partners, mentors, or investors.
Is the idea novel and distinct compared to existing solutions in the market?
Does the product/service leverage new technology or innovative methods?
Feasibility of the idea: Is it suitable for the market and current conditions?
Founding team: Do the members have sufficient experience, skills, and cohesion to execute the project effectively?
Market size and demand: Does the product/service address a clear need and target a large market?
Competition: Does the idea have a sustainable competitive advantage over rivals?
Business model: Is the revenue model clear, reasonable, and feasible?
Financial projections: Are there detailed and reasonable financial plans for the next 3-5 years?
Investment appeal: Is the project attractive to potential investors?
Does the idea address social or environmental issues or promote sustainable development?
What are the positive impacts on the community or specific groups?
Presentation skills: Does the team present clearly, logically, and convincingly?
Q&A responses: Is the team adept at addressing questions and providing critical feedback?
Design: Are the materials (slides, videos) professional and creative?
By participating in GVB Startup competition (“Competition”), you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.
1. Eligibility
The Competition is open to participants from around the world who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the registration process.
Participants must ensure compliance with the local laws of their country regarding participation in such events.
2. Ownership and Intellectual Property (IP)
All submissions, including business ideas, concepts, and presentations, remain the property of the respective participants.
Participants affirm that their submissions are original and do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Participants agree not to copy, replicate, or exploit the ideas, concepts, or intellectual property of other competitors without written consent from the rightful owner.
3. Confidentiality
Participants understand that information shared during the Competition may include confidential and proprietary details.
All participants agree to respect the confidentiality of such information and refrain from disclosing or using it for personal or commercial gain without permission.
4. Behavior and Ethics
Participants must uphold professional conduct and ethical standards throughout the Competition.
Any behavior deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or unethical may result in disqualification.
5. Jurisdiction and Legal Compliance
The Competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
By participating, participants agree to resolve any disputes under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, United Kingdom.
6. Disqualification and Penalties
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants for:
Submitting plagiarized, fraudulent, or non-original content.
Violating any rules of the Competition.
Failing to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined herein.
7. Limitation of Liability
The organizers shall not be liable for any claims, damages, or losses incurred by participants during the Competition.
Participants accept all risks associated with their participation.
8. Agreement to Media Release
By registering, participants consent to the use of their names, logos, photographs, and competition materials for promotional purposes by the organizers.
9. Amendments to Terms
The organizers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
